I have fond memories of Doug and Helen at the cottage on Golden Lake.
They were so kind, tolerant, helpful and caring when we rented the next door
United Church Camp to run Woodland Camp in the 70's. Helen was our on-call
nurse when we needed someone. And Doug loaned us a huge rope for our
'tug-of-war'. They even forgave us for the loud guitars on the closing nights
of Camp! They will always be fondly remembered.

Aunt Helen, You will always remain one of our favorite conversationalists. Not only were you engaged and genuine, you encouraged and sent people off with renewed faith and energy in their endeavors. You and Uncle Doug will always hold a special place in the hearts of our family and no doubt the entire community.

Helen was there when I was young - helping me deal with scrapes and pain, and to teach me how to "Do my best". She was there when Doug and I worked to "Save the Grove", always encouraging and making helpful suggestions. She was always there, quietly supporting in the background, never being intrusive. And she always made the bells ring so delightfully! Oh, how sad to lose so supportive a pillar!
May you and Doug find peace and happiness together in eternity.
God bless you, Helen! Thank you for being my friend.
