Obituary of Verne Joseph Farrell

Farrell, Verne J. August 9, 1929-July 4, 2014 Retired Ontario Hydro Peacefully in hospital surrounded by loved ones on July 4, 2014. Verne Joseph Farrell of Arnprior, dear son of the late Matthew (M.L.) Farrell and the late Mary Theresa (Stanton) Farrell. Beloved husband and devoted best friend for 60 years of Esther (Gauley) Farrell. Dearly loved father of Rick (Leslie) Farrell, Randy (Olga) Farrell and Ruth Hunter (Hugh). Cherished and extremely proud Grandpa of Justin (Allison McGrath), Paula, Emily and Erica. Pre-deceased by brother Lonial Farrell (late Blanche) and sisters Joan Whalen (late John) and Betty Anne Wolfgram (Conrad). Verne worked over 40 years for Ontario Hydro and spoke fondly of the good times he experienced and the many life-long friends he made during his career. He loved to fish, work in his yard and watch sports, especially hockey. Verne took particular pride in watching his grandchildren grow up. The family wishes to thank Dr. Earl Gordon, the staff at Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital and his personal support worker and friend, Valarie Baker, for their excellent care and compassion over the years. The family will receive friends at the Boyce Funeral Home Chapel, Visitation and Reception Centre 138 Daniel Street N. Arnprior Tuesday July 8, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and again Wednesday morning 9:30-10:30 a.m. Funeral Service will be conducted Wednesday July 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Emmanuel Anglican Church, Arnprior. Interment Arnprior Malloch Road Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, in memoriams to the Arnprior Hospital Partners in Caring Foundation or the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by his family.
