My heart is heavy at Aunt Pearl's passing. She was the last of the Barbers and now with her leaving, the end of a family generation. She will always be remembered with fondness and loving memories.

Aunt Pearl was always a role model in my life. I became a traveller as that was always something she was interested in. I was often in awe when I was young and she would talk about her travels. When I lived in Ottawa I would take her and her many friends to a bingo somewhere. She would win and I would never win!
Rest in peace my dear aunt. I am travelling right now in Mexico.

I always thought of Pearl as Mother's cousin - but of course she was my cousin too.
When I was a teenager, she would come to visit and she always brought a bit of glamour. A year or so ago we had a long chat when she called my brother Neil. It was a trip down memory lane for both of us. May she rest in peace.
