Linda and all of Jim's family, my thoughts and prayers are with you all.
So much can be said and written about Jim and his love of family and community. A smile that would melt the hardest of hearts. That is how I will always remember him as you were greeted at the counter and no matter how busy he was he had that way of making you feel like the most important person that just walked into his day.
A memory I will carry with me forever. One late snowy winter night I stopped for gas on my way home from work . Jim was all alone in the garage, that it self was rare as there was always someone sitting and chatting. But this night he was alone. It was shortly after Jim found out he had cancer. I told him I was sorry that he had to go through that. I felt he wanted to talk and talk we did. An hour or so later we shared and joked, shed a few tears and laughed some more. I left that night feeling both sad and uplifted as our conversation ended with talk of a miracle. What made this extra special is both Jim and I admitted we were not Church goers, believers, but not Church goers in the true sense. That night is burned in my memory. A beautiful winter night, plenty of snow and a bright night sky. As I drove home that night a feeling of peace come over me, so many years ago.
Jim was truly one of the good guys.
