The father that I block memories of. The sibling not mentioned in the obituary. I didn't attend your funeral because not once did you make an attempt to reach out and acknowledge my existence as your obituary shows no signs of my existence. The only thing I thank you for is passing on your artistic talents to me. Its sad to know that I have siblings that I've never met or known about until I read your obituary.

Joseph was such a lovely, considerate and talented gentleman. We spent many weekends sipping coffee, going on road trips to find that perfect place to paint and just enjoying the days. He was always so easy going and laughing was part of life. I was shocked to hear of his passing. There is a part of my heart held for him. Another angel in Heaven looking down on all of us. RIP Joseph. Hugs, Maureen xox

Sad to hear my father passed. I have only one memory / meeting of him. But what great conversation and laughs we had about food and art. Joe was not a part of my upbringing but he said we have very similar personalities. I hold that day very close to my heart. Even more so now.

Joe was always a pleasant addition to family dinners and events. He was such a happy go lucky guy who will be greatly missed. When visiting him in the hospital he still had his sense of humour and storytelling. My most cherished painting came from Joe as a wedding gift, personalized and signed with love. We’ll miss ya!

I remember Joe as a young child. He visited our home often is in Ripley. WV and attended the yearly arts and craft show at Cedar Lakes where he showed his artwork. My mother was his half sister, Mary M Cullen Fry Slaven daughter of the late Mabel Roush of Letart. He was a very talented man and lots of fun. My prayers are with all of his family during this difficult time. Love from Ravenswood, WV.
