Cindy and family,
I'm so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. He was such a kind and funny man. I met both of your parents through their friend Shirley D. Your dad rented me the little apartment beside the store when I got my first job at the hospital over 24 years ago. It was nice to know that there was a familiar face close by, watching out for me if ever I needed anything.
My condolences to you and your family. He will be missed.

Upon my first visit to your dad’s store he immediately knew that I was not an Arnpriorite and then the introduction began.
Mr. Wagonenblass was very welcoming and always lit up with his smile each and every time a customer came in his front door.
We were very blessed to have such a wonderful businessman within the community.
My sincere condolences on the loss of such a wonderful person.

My condolences to the family. Mr. Wagenblass was such a nice man. When I was younger I lived on Third Ave. in Arnprior, and if Mr. Wagenblass saw me walking to school in bad weather he would give me a ride to his store! I'd only have to walk from there to school. Obviously I never forgot it, and he didn't have to do it. So he will not be forgotten by me.

Dear Cindy and family,
We were saddened to read in today’s newspaper of the passing of your dear dad. We will be unable to be present at the funeral home during the next couple of days to express to you in person our thoughts of sympathy, so we want to take this opportunity to let you know that you are very much in our thoughts at this time. We remember Mr. Wagenblass as both a “gentle man” and a “gentleman” with a very kind heart. It was a pleasure to speak briefly with him (and you) at P.J.’S restaurant several weeks ago. We hope that many wonderful memories will bring you great comfort during the days ahead. Please know that you have our deep, heartfelt sympathy as you mourn the loss of one so dear to your entire family.
Sincere condolences to all of you,
Richard and Valerie Wereley

......sending our deepest sympathy to the family of Mr Wagenblass.
Had some great chats with him over the years, and loved seeing him out touring in his beautiful old car (his pride and joy). He did love to spar with people, and made many great friendships over the years.
I’m sure he will be missed by many.

It was such a pleasure to know both Reg and Shirley. A visit to their store was a joy and many chuckles.
Reg was an important part of this community and his "Quirky" sense of humour was alway present.

Reg, and the whole Wagenblass family were one of the shining gems of Arnprior back when I had the privilege of being minister at Grace - St.Andrews United Church. It is with great saddneess that I learned of Reg's death.
And, Cindy, had my health not been so bad just now, I would have been thrilled and honoured to take a part in conducting Reg's funeral. We are at our son's holiday home in Palm Springs just now while I am recuperating.
Much love to you all.....

When I was about 14 years old I decided to bicycle from Ottawa to Arnprior. It took about 3-4 hours and my first stop was Wagenblass and Son General Store. Uncle Reg asked how long it took and after I replied (with a certain amount of pride) he looked at me with his trademark grin and said: " It took you all that time to go 32 mile?" And then he gave me a handful of candy from the bins behind the counter.
I will miss trading barbs with you Uncle Reg.

Graeme and family, I am so sad to hear this news. What a great man your grandpa was! He always had a smile on his face and was one of the first to visit me in the hospital because I was born on his birthday. And, every year on my birthday, I was allowed to pick anything from the shelves of his store, usually more candy and chocolate than my little hands could carry. An absolute gem of a man, who will most definitely live on in my heart and the hearts of many for a very long time! Tomorrow is our birthday, Reggie and I’m sending my birthday wishes all the way up to Heaven!
