(Beloved Aunt)

After ninety-seven wonderful years, our lovely aunt passed away in Arnprior, Ontario on October 8, 2019 after a tragic fall.  Flo was born in 1922 in Cobalt, Ontario to parents John Moore and Mary Nolan. She is survived by her sister Anna Smith, Arnprior and Anna’s daughters Susan Ritchie, Ottawa and Francie Heagney, Arnprior. She leaves also nieces Ann Hull, Mardi Morgenrath, and nephews Brian O’Shaughnessy, Tom O’Shaughnessy and Patrick Moore.  Flo was predeceased by her sisters Genevieve Moore, Margaret Moore and Teresa O’Shaughnessy as well as brother Clement Moore.  Flo was a graduate of Ottawa University, earning degrees in Arts and in Library Science and began her long career at the Parliamentary Library, Ottawa.  She retired as Director of Technical Services after thirty-five years.  Flo enjoyed reading, classical music, theatre, bridge games, golf, curling and travelling the world! Later in life, she loved crosswords, jumbles and sudoku.  Her last eight years were spent in Arnprior with her sister Anna at Island View Suites.  Thanks to the staff! Flo’s physician Dr. Jennifer Rivington treated Flo with compassionate care over those eight years.  Special thanks to Flo’s private caregiver Valerie Bigras for her kind and thoughtful daily care.  A private burial will take place at Notre Dame Cemetery.  Arrangements by Boyce funeral Home, 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior.  In memory of Flo a donation may be made to the Arnprior Public Library.
