Obituary of Phyllis Gahan

(nee Storie) May 12, 1932 – Jan. 5, 2021 With sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Phyllis Mae Gahan Tuesday morning January 5, 2021 at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital at the age of 88. Predeceased by husband Elwin and son John. Phyllis, Mom, Nan was the dear mother of Barrie (Deb), Garnett (Carol), Murray, John (deceased), Faith Colovic (Hilo) and Peter (Debbie). Cherished grandmother of Katharine, Amy, Megan, Jessica, Erin, Liam, Carolyn, Michael, Leah, Trevor, Kelly and Adam. She was great-grandmother of 14; Quinn, Morgan, Layla, Caden, Ava, Finnley, Gareth, Georgia, Bennett, Mclean, Laughlin, Logan, Tyler and Layton. Phyllis was born to Violet (Russett) and Emerson Storie on the farm in McNab Township, one of five siblings. She was a dear sister to Isabel (deceased), Joyce, Jewel and brother Kinley (deceased). Mom loved her family, community and church. She was the family historian with amazing recall of the many branches of our family tree. She loved welcoming visitors with a cup of tea and very soon was able to claim mutual cousins, at heart she felt all our roots are connected. Her kind and loving presence will be greatly missed. Phyllis’ arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior where due to the current COVID-19 Regulations, a private family visitation will take place.
