Mary Ellen and family - I was Hugh and Jim's GM Rep many years ago. A North Bay friend sent Jim's tribute from the Nugget along to me. It was a wonderful tribute to a wonderful business partner and friend. I got to know Hugh and Catherine, Jim and Rita over the years. Hugh let us use the camp on Temiskaming for a few summers in the mid-1980's. It was a wonderful place and we enjoyed our time there with other family members as well - Tammy and Trevor, their mother, Bucky. We may have even met you !!
We dearly treasured our friendship with the Lynn family. Hugh and Jim were true gentlemen, Catherine and Rita were gracious ladies. My wife and I bought GM's 50th anniversary gift to Hugh - a wooden carved wall plaque of a wood-cutter bought in Quebec from Gilles Bourgault. Maybe you or your sister still as it as a memento. I was so pleased to accompany Hugh and Catherine to the presentation in Toronto in 1979. We kept in touch with Hugh and Catherine until their passings. I knew that Jim had moved over to the mill and was happy working there. Special memories of times with a wonderful family!

Mary Ellen and family, I am sad to hear of Jim's passing. What a great man he was. I am so glad I was able to get to know him at Island View. I remember sitting with him beside the water chatting. He always had interesting stories to tell.

I started moose hunting with Jim once out of university back in the late 80's. A moose came out one day and as an unexperienced hunter I looked at Jim to let me know when to shot. However Jim did not notice the moose as he was busy reading a book on how to clean a moose ! Moose looked at both of us and walked away, I could still see Jim's face when he saw the moose. Great man and great memories! My condolences to the family. Jean B.
