Obituary of Sheila Cavanagh

(nee Bidgood) September 28, 1930 - April 25, 2021 (Retired Loans Officer of Royal Bank and TD Trust, Arnprior) Peacefully passed away at Bonnechere Manor, Renfrew, Ontario, in the early morning hours of Sunday, April 25, 2021 following a lengthy illness of Alzheimer’s disease, at the age of 90. Beloved wife of Leonard Cavanagh (deceased). Dearly loved mother of Patricia (late Bert) Herrick, Sally Gentry (Sandy Hamilton), Linda (Tom) Herrick, Debbie (John Paul) Bertrand and Rodney Cavanagh. Cherished and proud grandmother of Tara and P.J. (Christine) Herrick; Dallas Evans (deceased), Darryl (Cindy) Evans, Derek Evans, Shawn (Wanda) Herrick, Ted Herrick, Angela Bertrand, Travis (Christine) Bertrand, Chase Bertrand and Jenna Bertrand. Sheila was great-grandmother to thirteen and great-great-grandmother to three. Predeceased by her parents, Cecil and Edna Bidgood. She is also predeceased by her sister Betty (late Robert) Dowd and her brother, Robert (late Mary) Bidgood. She is survived by her sisters, Hilda (late Mervyn) Cavanagh and Beverly (Claude) Pothier. Sheila lived her life as a farmwife, bank employee, church organist, bus tour hostess, volunteer driver and educator for the Canadian Cancer Society. Her favorite pastimes were her music, “BINGO”, painting floral and nature scenes, reading and daily walks to “Tim’s” for coffee. We wish to thank Dr. Vilis, Dr. Di Paulo and the staff of Bonnechere Manor for their excellent care of “Mum”. Sheila’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior. A private family service will take place at St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, Diamondview Road, Kinburn, Ontario. In memoriams may be made to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation or a charity of choice.
