For my aunt Blanche… my special friend. We spoke every day and that was a huge blessing for me. We had many laughs and some tears but lots of love. Blanche, you were a force of nature. You could get up to some fun hell-raising, which I might have been included in some of the time. We shared a glass of wine and talked about the good old days. My sign from you came my sweet little hummingbird and I’m so thankful. My family Jennifer, Doug, Stephanie, Hailey, Kinsey… we all miss you so very much. With love forever, Connie.

To Blanche my wonderful aunt... I miss you so much. We had many conversations over the years, sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. You were always there for me, you listened to me, made me feel cared for, and most of all we laughed. Blanche would tell me stories about the past and I shared mine daily of Chantal and Daniel and what my grandchildren Emilie, Madeleine and Mason were up to. Blanche called Pierre to see how he was doing or when she had something for him to look up. She called him her secretary. Can’t forget Duke, our little dachshund. Though he has been gone many years now, she always mentioned him. Blanche, I miss you and love you, but now you are free of pain and you are at peace with the Man up above.

I was saddened to see that Blanche had passed away. Blanche was a dear friend to my Mother-in-law Joyce. They enjoyed their road trips all over the valley shopping and going for lunch. When Joyce passed Blanche would call me every so often to see how we were all doing, She always expressed how much she missed her friend Joyce. All I can picture right now is that her and Joyce together again sipping on a cup of tea catching up.
To the family of Blanche we offer our heartfelt sympathies.

Blanche was my neighbour for 3 1/2 years. For most of that time, I would pop in on her, more regularly in the past year, and we would share some tea and chat about our families, our lives. The best thing about Blanche was when she laughed. She had a devilish sense of humour and no matter how she was feeling, there was only a few times that I wasn’t able to bring a smile to her face. Blanche was always so appreciative for anything you would do for her. Now, I can say I am the one who is appreciative. I was grateful for her friendship. I was grateful for the time we spent together. She will be sadly missed. I send my heartfelt condolences to her daughter Lynn and family, as well as her two nieces in Ottawa. God bless.

I was so sad to hear of Blanche's death. We were next door neighbours for years on Victoria Street. She loved our cat who would go over to her porch to get pats from her and right up to the last weeks of her life she always would ask... "And how's that old cat Whitney of mine?" I grew up in a big family and lived communally for years afterwards and always seemed to cook more than I needed so I'd frequently bring some of whatever I made over to her. She didn't like to accept things without responding with something herself so she'd often drive me to Metro so I wouldn't have to walk home carrying a backpack full of heavy groceries. When she moved to an apartment building she missed the cheery waves of the neighbours on Victoria Street and always asked how they were doing. She loved dachshunds, she used to have one, and when I got her a dachshund calendar at PetValu with 12 big colour pictures of those pups she was so delighted! Then I saw a hilarious picture online of a dachshund wearing a pink vest and a pink hat driving a car. I made a copy and when I gave it to her she laughed so hard! I have a relative who crotchets animals and had her make a copy of "Pinky the driving dachshund" that Blanche put in a place of honour on her couch. She spoke often of her daughter and her two nieces with such affection and loved to get an opportunity to talk to them. I am glad she's out of the pain she had recently but will miss her saucy sense of humour! Thanks for all you kindnesses, Blanche!
