Obituary of Jim Kilburn

(Royal Canadian Navy-Retired) (Past Member of Arnprior Curling Club) It is with sadness we announce that James "Jim" Kilburn, passed away Tuesday May 18, 2021 at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital at the age of 86 with his family at his side. Cherished husband of Kathleen (Kay) (nee Symington) (Bretzlaff). He will be greatly missed by his son James, son John, daughter-in-law Wendy and grandchildren Alex, Evan and Sydney. Jim was predeceased by his first wife Jayne, brothers and their spouses-Billy (Mary), Herb (Bertha) and Wally (June), also his parents Herb and Isobel Kilburn. Jim and Kay were married in May 1990 and in December of the same year, he retired from Imperial Oil where he was employed as an Engineering Technologist. Over the years, they enjoyed building memories and acquaintances on cruises with Holland America. Jim’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior where family and friends are invited to a visitation Saturday October 9, 2021 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Interment Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte. In memory of Jim, donations may be made to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation. Facemasks/Coverings and Social Distancing Measures are required during the visitation.
