My sincere sympathies to Lynn and to all of Robbie's family and friends.
Robbie made a lifetime impression on me as a mentor, boss and friend. He was caring, totally invested in helping his employees. This inspired me to follow in his big footsteps. I feel fortunate that he hired me back in 89 resulting in a wonderful 30 year career.
Robbie was a role model on treating everyone like you would like to be treated yourself; with kindness, empathy and respect. He made a lasting impression to me and many others. Rest in peace, dear Robbie. Eternally grateful.

Robbie had a terrific sense of humor. Every time our family visited Granny Burton in Braeside, Robbie was always there to entertain us with a good joke or funny story. We always had a good laugh.
He will be missed.

To the entire Burton family, I would like to send along my most sincere condolences on the passing of Robbie. I came to know him when I joined the Arnprior golf course in the early eighties. What first stood out was what a fine gentleman and fierce competitor he was on several encounters. The term RB meant you had done something unexpected on the course and it turned out to be beneficial. We did a number of golf trips together and by rooming with him I got to know the man much better. Great personality, wonderful sense of humour, and a pleasure to be around. My father told me you don't measure a man by what is in his wallet but by what is in his heart. Robbie had a heart of gold. I had the pleasure of working for Robbie at the Sir Charles Tupper building and along with other members of Robbie's team we worked together on large projects. Robbie looked for the best in everyone and he found it and by doing so he got the best from his team and in the process created a positive and fun work place!
He was a good listener, an excellent communicator and most of all he had the rare talent of bringing people with opposing views to all pull together in the same direction. I hold the memories of those days dear and send my sincere sympathy to Lynn and to all of Robbie's family and friends as he will be dearly missed.

Condolences to Lynn, and all of Robbie's family.
I worked in Public Works with Robbie during the fun years when we were one big family at the Tupper Building.
He was a great guy to everybody – He led the development of a number of large projects - the PBMS being only one of many. Just hearing his name brings back a flood of good memories. I remember when he retired, I went to the retirement party a bit early and wished him well. By that time he was a big wig, but you’d never know it. He sure had a way with making people feel special, and at the same time part of the family. He was well liked and admired by everybody. I'm very sorry to hear of his passing

Deepest sympathies to Robbie's family as you mourn his passing. For many years, I worked in the same systems area of PWC as Robbie, and admired his knowledge, work ethics AND great sense of humour! We had a wonderful bunch of colleagues who valued each other and achieved lots! Those were good times. Many of us are still in touch after retirement, and sadly when we learn of a dear friend's death. We hope your many memories will comfort you in the days ahead. Judy Schlieman

Dear Lynn and all of the Robbie Burton family,
I worked with Robbie at Public Works back in the 90's. He was a great boss, always seemed to have a good balance between meeting client needs, keeping staff happy and placating the higher ups. He was a great mentor.
He was very patient the odd time I had the fun of golfing with him as I shot my 40 over par... he was always easy with an encouraging laugh and smile.
Even in our last game a year ago he managed to post a decent round as I hacked my way around the course.
I have many fond memories of him at work and at play, and he will be missed.
Love to all of you,
Dave Morse

Lynn and family,
Sending heartfelt condolences to you all at this very difficult time of Robbie's passing. Robbie and I worked on many Optimist events over the years, including golf tournaments, bike rodeos, Christmas tree sales, and our club's 45th anniversary party. Robbie was a wealth of information, connections and club historian. As an Optimist member he gave freely of his time and expertise, and would always include everyone in our events. He always made you feel good about whatever project we undertook. He was catalyst behind our ambitious hospital renovation donation for the club and kept us on track for the five year endeavour. Our community will miss a wonderful community leader, gentleman and friend of youth. Forever an Optimist Robbie, be at peace.
