December 29, 1936-November 4, 2021 With sadness the family announces that John Cohoe Murrell Wright of Arnprior, Ontario, passed away peacefully at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital, on Thursday morning, November 4, 2021. Son of the late Gilbert and Ruth (Cohoe) Murrell Wright and dear brother of Peter Murrell Wright (Satu Repo) of Toronto, James “Jim” Murrell Wright of Arnprior, Margaret McKeith (late Gordon) of Bjorkdale, SK and David Murrell-Wright of Ottawa. John will also be missed by his nieces and nephews, Daniel, Susan, Laura, Jone, Allan, Owen, Mary, Robert and Leslie, and by his many friends. John was born in Edmonton, AB and received his education in Camrose, AB, and Saskatoon, SK. Following the completion of his BA and MA at the University of Saskatchewan, John taught at Bishop’s College School, Sherbrooke, QC, Sedbergh School in Montebello, QC, and the University of Saskatchewan. A brilliant student, he also attended Stanford University as a doctoral candidate. On his return to Canada, John worked with his parents who ran the Saskatoon Convalescent Home and later worked in Edmonton where he assisted in the running of Cromdale Hotel. John came east in 1999 and worked with his family at Cedar Cove Resort on White Lake, ON, and then at Antiques Etcetera in Arnprior. Gregarious with a remarkable memory and a droll sense of humour, John lived life fully with care for others. John’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior where friends are invited to an open visitation Saturday November 13, 2021 from 1-3 p.m. Interment in Saskatchewan at a later date.
