Truth was like a second mother to me growing up. I loved her fiercely and learned so much from her from sewing to singing and more. Every day of my career would not have been possible without her stellar influences. She wove music into the fabric of our community through choirs at church and at school.
At Christmastime in choir, we would sing “Joy to the World” and the lyrics “He rules the world with Truth and Grace”. I remember thinking it was very smart of God to choose Truth to help rule our world with her formidable character, talent, passion and wisdom! And each Christmas since these lyrics have made me smile and sing a little louder. Truth was joy to my world, to her family, to our neighbourhood, and to countless others.
My condolences to Bob, Laurie, Paula, Rosemary, Jennifer and families. May sweet memories bring you joy again in future.

Sending love and hugs to the Nugent family. So many wonderful memories come to mind when I think of Truth... she was an inspiration to so many of us kids, growing up on Ottawa and Harrington Streets.
I will always remember her warmth, kindness and patience with all the silly choir girl antics!
A treasure of our community!

John & I spent many wonderful weekends camping with Truth & Bobby and their young family when you lived in Orillia.
We so miss our Spring camping trips with them every year after our US winters, sightseeing and playing cribbage in the evenings. Truth & Bobby we’re always so kind to my Mom (Muriel), taking her on trips and showing up in Florida for her 85th birthday.
Many fond memories with your family. So thankful to have had the recent opportunity to visit with Truth & Bobby. She will be missed.
Our condolences to your family. We love you.

Truth has had a tremendous impact on my life and was a much appreciated influence on my daughters. They were the beneficiary of her love of music which she so willingly fostered in others. As we grieve, the memories flood. “Remember when Truth taught us the song about when Grandmama met Grandpapa. Think it was called the ‘Second Minuet’. We dressed up in a tux and ball gown to sing for the Retired Teachers Luncheon. And, how many times did we sing at church, The Grove and even a wedding? Sometimes we took the bells with us.” Truth would patiently sit at the piano until those little girls perfected the timing, harmony and dynamics. She would always give that little nod of approval and gratification.
For me, Truth was the very best friend I could ever wish to know. I cannot say how many times we lost track of time and seemed to still have more to talk about. I always valued her advice whether it was for marital problems, teenage rebellion or how to alter a sewing pattern. We sang in choirs together, shared poetry, swapped recipes and books. Truth was truly a wonderful woman. We will all miss her.
So sorry to miss her memorial service. My thoughts are with you Bob, Laurie, Rosemary, Jennifer and Paula, as well as the rest of the family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Truth was a second mom to me growing up as Jenny and I were inseparable. I was always welcomed into their home and even went on a 6 week long vacation to PEI with them. What a seamstress, choir director, gardener and master of many skills. She was an inspiration to me and a truly beautiful lady in so many ways.
