I was heart-broken to learn of Win's passing. We kept in touch long-after I and my late husband, Allan Dormer, moved from the valley back to Oshawa. So I am sending my sympathy to all Win's family and friends -- we have many fond memories of her.

Many fond memories of Win in the harbour during vacations growing up where we crossed paths while either her or Faye were heading to the church to support the function of the day or take care of any number of things that needed doing. Coordinated outings with us grandkids or just a casual meet up. Remembered with fond memories of a great friend of the family full of heartfelt laughter. Our sincerest condolences to Dale, Kendra, Shannon and Brandon. Sad we’re unable to be there with you today to celebrate the incredible life of Win.

Winnie gave me my first hair cut in our farm kitchen around the age of seven. Later, as a teenager, I remember singing in St Andrew’s choir with her and rehearsing in our dining room in Fitzroy, my mother at the piano, and my father and other choir members as well, enjoying the happy times that ensued from singing together. She was a true “steward” of the community and of the church and will be surely missed; a wonderful woman and friend.

To all the Munro Family
Our deepest sympathy to all the family on the passing of Winnifred. She was a very special lady always so interested in everything that was going on in life and good times . Enjoyed my visits with her over the years and many phone calls specially when she was checking in on Shirley. She is definitely going to be missed by so many and that sure includes all our family. She became part of our lives when Stan married Shirley and sure enjoyed her fully. So glad we all got to spend a weekend with her when travelling to and from Sault Ste Marie a few years ago.
All your good memories will help you get through these sad times.

We always loved hearing Win tell stories related to our family - like the night when Shawn was born and the time she and Faye had Andrew and Kelan as babies for the day - one for each of them! While your hearts are broken now, hoping one day the happy memories will replace the tears. Look up to the sky and wonder if perhaps they are not stars in the sky but openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are watching over us.

Winn was a neighbor in our apartment building for a number of years. She was always positive and we enjoyed chatting with her when we met at the mail boxes or elevator. A lovely lady who will be missed.

My most sincere condolences to Dale’s family and entire Munro families and all her dear friends. I’m happy that we considered each other close friends and chatted frequently… Win was such a sweet independent soul, her quick wit, her sharp mind and generosity of her time and baking was known by everyone. I will miss her dearly, and can’t believe we had our last conversation where she shared she was unwell …..

To Dale and the Monro family,
Our mothers met at a cooking class where the ingredients mixed and blended into a delicious friendship that lasted some 50 years long. In between, there were many meals and laughter, a trip to China and Tibet together, very fond visits mostly in Ottawa, but also a golden anniversary that was partially celebrated in Arnprior with Mrs Monro as our special guest. We are thankful to Mrs Monro for her strength and courage in driving so frequently over the decades to visit friends in Ottawa. We are especially grateful to her for being our Christmas Goodies Fairy…the endless delectable baking goods which we have been blessed to enjoy year upon year. We will indeed miss her baking, but more than anything, we will sorely miss her many kindnesses, her great stories and her smile.
With love,
Florence, Eric and the Lyen family

To all of Win's family,
Arnold and I extend our deepest and heartfelt condolences to all of you. We met Win at St-Andrews church and were welcomed with open arms by Win and the church community. As the adult choir leader for 15 years, I had the opportunity to work with Win. Her passion for signing was inspirational, and her positive attitude and kindness were natural gifts. We will always remember how she went out of her way to make our children feel included. She was a true "pillar" of the community. I will never forget her passion and dedication for her community.
With love and affection.

I met Win in the late 1990s when I first attended St Andrew’s Church in Fitzroy Harbour. She drew me in with her kindness, energy and constant smile and positive attitude. I feel blessed to have been among her many friends and to have shared time with her in the choir, UCW and many church events. She was also a delight to play euchre with and had a real knack for winning! I will miss her greatly. My condolences to all her family.

My sympathies to all the family and all who knew this remarkable lady. I'm already missing my music buddy... No matter where I would be playing music, if she was there, she'd come right over immediately and start dancing. Her positive attitude was an inspiration to all who knew her. The last time Win and I talked, she told me she was ready to go and had no unfinished business. I can almost see her dancing on the clouds of heaven. Rest in peace, Win. Rick Leben, Kinburn
