Obituary of Reginald (Reg) Finan

May 5, 1945 - December 23, 2022 Finally at peace, Reginald Roy Finan has passed away in his 78th year. He is survived by his wife Ona (nee Pettigrew), his children Kim (Franko) Koraca, Jason (Amber) Finan and his four granddaughters: Rachel, Raegan, Mary and Evelyn. Reggie came from a lively family of eight in Castleford, along the Ottawa River, and is leaving behind his sole surviving sibling, his sister Doreen, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. He was predeceased by his parents Reg and Agnes Finan (nee Leavoy) and his siblings John, Clara, Margaret, Beverly, George and Wayne. After his dads early passing, Reg was his family’s caretaker and this led to his enthusiastic involvement over the years in coaching youth sports, organizing community events and as a leader at Cobden Hydro. He will be remembered by the many people who’s life he entered and those to whom he generously offered his support. “To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived, this is to have succeeded.“ Emerson Reg will be laid to rest with his family in the spring at the Castleford Union Cemetery.
