Obituary of Howard Ransom

Ransom, Howard John (August 10, 1931 – January 13, 2023) Surrounded by the love of his family and friends, Howard John Ransom passed away at 91 years of age. A devoted husband to Aveleigh Ransom (predeceased, 2004) and dear father to Margo Ouellette (predeceased, 2016) and Wendy Ransom of Arnprior, Howard listened attentively and gave wholeheartedly to family, friends and the community. Brother to Jean (Mike) Tierney of Woodstock, and Gerry Ransom (predeceased,1987); predeceased by parents Charles and Mary Estelle Ransom, Howard retired as V.P. Finance of Kenwood Mills after 36 years of service. In retirement Howard gave tirelessly to the community by volunteering at the Arnprior Public Library and the Arnprior & District Museum. In recognition, he received the Ontario Senior of the Year Award in 2003 and Town of Arnprior Senior of the Year Award in 2005. When Howard completed a task to his satisfaction, he would declare them “golden”; now his golden heart can rest. Howard's arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior. Respecting Howard’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. For those wishing to remember Howard, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Multiple Sclerosis Society or Arnprior Regional Health Foundation would be appreciated by his family.
