Dearest Janet, Natalie and family. I am so sorry for your great loss. Though I didn't know Steve, I've known you, Janet for years, as you've worked many days and evenings, as a Volunteer for Seniors at Home. As I read Steve's tributes from everyone, I can see he was a wonderful gentleman that everyone loved to be around. A great husband, exceptional Dad and Grandpa to his family. And just knowing that he was into sports, hunting, gardening, small engines, etc, etc. I know that your life with Steve was full of adventure and fun. That is great to see. There is nothing like having friends from all these activities. Over time you will reach out to these friends and know they are the ones you can lean on for love and support, as well as the rest of your family. We too from Seniors at Home are here for you, Janet. If you ever need help with anything, please let me know. I love Liz 's photos of the baseball teams in her condolence message. They are awesome of Steve and all his teammates! God's speed Steve. I'm sure you're up their in heaven right now, throwing your best curve! 3 up! 3 down! We'll be watching for you in the Field of Dreams. Prayers and love to you and your family Janet. Then playing for Boeing, Steve helped pitch the team to a Tournament Championship over a team from Renfrew. Not quite sure of the year but estimated to be around 1983-84. The tournament was hosted by the Arnprior Amateur Ball Association (AABA) as a fundraiser for ball diamonds with lights to be installed at the McLean Park, Arnprior.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of Steve's family; his wife Janet of 44 years (wow, you guys made the perfect couple), Natalie (your Dad was so proud of you, he loved it when you were there to watch him play) Dean and Stanley (you had one of the best for your grandfather. He would have enjoyed passing on his pitching skills to you boys, I am sure). Sisters Joy and Pam I know how hard it is to lose a brother. He will be watching over you both). Condolences to all of Steve's family members and friends. RIP buddy love Liz and Ron My heart skipped a beat when I saw Steve's obituary on FB and all the memories of a life-long friendship that came about by first watching and covering the Men's Fastball Leagues in Arnprior. Steve was one hell of a pitcher. What I noticed and appreciated about this talented thrower was he was so quiet and unaffected by those around him as he did his job on the mound. Later as teammates (15 years) on a local Lobball Team is where I really got to know Steve. Easy going, a team player and and even though the pitching style was totally different (we used to refer it to as 'Barbie" Ball) he came to play and have fun on a Sunday night outing. xoxo
