Obituary of Toni Philip

November 4, 1952 - February 13, 2024

With profound sadness yet a celebration of a life lived with grace and joy, we bid farewell to our beloved Toni, who gracefully departed from this world on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, in the comforting embrace of her family. She was 71. Her valiant battle against cancer was nothing short of epic—a testament to her warrior spirit and unwavering determination. Toni is survived by her beloved husband, Kirk Philip, and their loving daughters, Chelsey Philip and Krista Philip (Matt). She was the cherished grandmother of Brooke and Weston Grenier. Dear sister of Linda Leach (late Harold), Wilma Riddle (Wayne), Joyce Rattray, and Sylvia Rattray. She will be deeply missed by her best friend, Lise Turpin, their friendship a testament to loyalty and camaraderie that transcended time. Toni was preceded in death by her son Karson, as well as her brothers Frank, Jack, Delbert, and Wayne Rattray, and sisters Fern Ouellette, Ruth Williams, and Barbara Rattray. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Doreen (Boyce) Rattray. With a heart brimming with love and joy, Toni embraced every moment of her life. She selflessly dedicated her life to being the most supportive (and gorgeous) wife, generous mother, fun-loving grandmother and ‘ride-or-die’ friend anyone could have asked for. Those fortunate enough to cross paths with her were touched by her kindness and warmth. She was always up for one more dance, one more drink and everything was always more fun when she was around. Her life was a testament to the boundless power of unconditional love, a lesson she imparted to her beloved family. May her memory continue to inspire love and laughter in all who were blessed to know her.

A Celebration of Life for Toni Philip will take place on Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 2-5 p.m. Celebrations will take place at Head Office (430 Hazeldean Rd. Unit 6, Kanata, ON K2L 1T9). Our family looks forward to sharing a drink, some tears and many laughs to honour the wonderful life that mom led.
