Obituary of Dorothy Homer

May 3, 1933 – March 2, 2024

Dorothy Freida Homer (nee Wegner) passed away peacefully at the Grove Nursing Home in Arnprior on Saturday March 2, 2024 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late James Johnson “John” Homer. Loving mother of Jim (Debbie), Diane Ziebarth (Cal), Terry (Taina), Wayne, Paul (Carol), Lynn (George Goudie), and Charlene (Tom Cull). Dearly loved grandmother of Jason, Joey, Adam, Ben, Sarah, Chad, Brandon and Meagan. Will be missed be 16 great-grandchildren. Daughter of the late Egbert and Elsie Wegner (nee Vollrath). Predeceased by siblings Gordon Wegner, Florence Sutherland, Joyce McNamara and Vera McGillis. Dorothy’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior where visitation will be held Wednesday March 20, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted Thursday March 21, 2024 at the Boyce Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the Boyce Reception Centre. Interment Arnprior Albert Street Cemetery. In memory of Dorothy a donation may be made to the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Arnprior or the Arnprior-Braeside-McNab Seniors at Home Program.
