So sad to hear about Carol's passing. I know that David, Christopher, Kevin, Melissa. Ruth and the grandkids will miss her. Carol and I were in nursing school together. We were also friends through my friend Gail who met Carol in high school. Carol, Gail and I used to get together once a year at Red Lobster to catch up and share stories.

Carol was a very special person who dedicated her life to looking after others, both in her family and professional life. She was anxious to help when others needed her and she had many good and faithful friends. She loved her family and grandchildren very much and was always at the many happy family get togethers.
To David and family, losing someone who means so much to you is never easy. Try to focus on the good memories you made together and know that in her heart she wanted the very best for all of you. She fought to stay with you for as long as she could.
May she rest in peace. Love you Carol!
Your Sister-in-Law, Heather

Carol was a cherished friend and companion for many years. We met on the trails of Mud Lake and bonded over a shared appreciation of fungus! With cameras in hand, we repeatedly explored the NCC trails and conservation areas in and around Ottawa plus a wide variety of other parks and natural spaces within several hours drive of Ottawa. In every season - hot, cold, wet, dry, and mosquito-filled - we both enjoyed the beauty and variety we discovered everywhere we went. We photographed birds, beasts, bees and butterflies, flowers, trees, waterways, mushrooms, and pond life. Oddly enough, though, Carol's favourite creature was not a Canadian native; she was particularly fond of giraffes! We explored, dined in, and shopped in every small town within reach of Ottawa, visiting lots of quilt shops along the way. She was smart, practical, caring, talented, and fun as well as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. I will miss her presence in my life and remember her fondly on every rural road and trail.
