John Stanislaus Dota Jr. (J.S.)

June 19, 1936 – May 17, 2024

It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce John passed away at the age of 87 years on Friday May 17, 2024, peacefully at home, surrounded by his family and their love.

Beloved husband and best friend of Bernice (Bun) Duhn for over 67 years. Proud and loving dad to their three girls; Barb (Craig), Cindy, and Penny (Freddie). Cherished Poppa to Kurt (Tatyana) and Connor. Dearly loved brother of Raymond (Doreen) and predeceased by his sister Sally Andre and brother Anthony Dota. Special brother-in-law to Arthur Duhn (Jean) (late Roberta), Shirley Duhn (late Ensley), Barb Duhn (late Elwood) and the late Lorna Kyer (late Glenn). He was predeceased by his parents Celestine and John Dota Sr. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cherished long time family friends.

Dad's love of his family and friends was beyond measure. He will never be forgotten and will remain in our hearts always.

John and his family want to sincerely thank the incredible staff at Carp Commons Retirement Home for their care and support for John (and Bernice) over the past several months. A special thank you to all of his doctors and medical professionals for their genuine care and guidance over his lifetime. 

Dad was a huge supporter of Arnprior and Renfrew and their various community programs. So for those wishing to contribute to his memory (in lieu of flowers), the family would sincerely appreciate donations be made in his honour to Arnprior-McNab-Braeside Seniors at Home, Hospice Renfrew or to the Arnprior Food Bank.

His final arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior. A private family service will be held.
