Lorraine Hanson
(nee Fumerton)
With deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Lorraine Hanson (nee Fumerton) on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital surrounded by the love of her family. She was 86 years old. Beloved wife for 55 years of the late Barrie Hanson. Predeceased by precious daughter Jennifer Hanson. Proud and loving mother of Laura Hanson, Martha Overton (Chris), Michael Hanson and Rachel Hanson. Cherished grandmother of Mitchell, Benjamin, Lydia, Phoebe, Tobey and Samuel. Daughter of the late William and Jennie (Raycroft) Fumerton, Lorraine was the last of her siblings, having been predeceased by Alma McNab (late Ken), Mary Craig (late Wim), Harriet Campbell (late Warren), Audrey Bayford (late Ted), Shirlianne Ellis (late Harvey), Herb Fumerton and Bill Fumerton (Marian) as well as her brother-in-law JackHanson (Arlie) and sister-in-law Gloria McKerracher. She was the adored Aunt of many nieces and nephews. Lorraine’s greatest joy came from being a mother and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a faithful servant of Jehovah for 55 years and was proud to share the bible’s hopeful message with others in her community. She was a lover of music and attended dozens of concerts, musicals and plays with friends and family. Lorraine finished the newspaper crossword puzzle every day and was always game for a road trip, a lunch date or a trip to Bayshore Shopping Center. She will be remembered for her strength, grace and faith in the face of trials, her sense of humour, and the many apple pies delivered to friends. She was happiest in her home in White Lake where she spent her final days, overlooking the Hanson farm and watching beautiful sunsets. Arrangements have been entrusted to Boyce Funeral Home Ltd, 138 Daniel Street N, Arnprior where family and friends are invited to join the family for visitation on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 12:30 p.m.- 4:30 p.m. Interment White Lake Community Cemetery at a later date.
