I am the grandaughter of Doris Russet. My mother is Darylene Hadji. I remember fondly as a child our trips to the valley and I actually have a picture that Gwens mother Maggie stitched of beautiful sunflowers. I am writing on behalf of my mom who is now living with us and has Alzheimers. When I told her of Gwens passing, she remembered her fondly. Our condolences are being sent to Gwens loving family.

Gwen was an adored cousin when I was a child. My mother (Lulu Russett Coyles) thought Gwen the epitome of grace. I shared that opinion in my later years too. Gwen always had a bright smile and open heart for everyone. When I last visited 'The Valley', from Okotoks, Alberta, my cousin Gary Russett and I visited Gwen along with Gary's wife, Shirley. That was about 3-4 years ago. As always Gwen was inviting and let us hear her stories of paintings on the walls, the lamp on her table (Aunt Maggie's!) and all sorts of family memories. We had a great visit. Gwen will always be a very fond memory of mine.

Dear Brian, Peter and Jean
So very sorry to hear of Aunt Gwen's passing. She was one of my favourite Aunts and was certainly strength to me in my time of need. There will be many happy stories shared on Saturday and I wished I could be there to join in. My thoughts and prayers will be with you.
Love Judi

Our condolences to the family of Gwen Woods. We have many fond memories of this older generation of Campbells who were so well known and respected as a pioneer family in the Arnprior region. Our own branch of the Campbells, also descended from pioneers to the Arnprior area, not only share the same name, but also have had generational connections with the Campbells of Campbell Drive, through farming, family and community.
Our blessings to all the family in this time of sadness.

I was Gwen's minister for 8 years and what a privilege those years were. I remember her as a quiet, reserved and modest woman but always ready with a compliment or smile when I needed it most. That smile was always disarming and genuine, coming from the deep heart and person within. She lived a long and beautiful life and will be fondly remembered by her family and all who knew her. Angela joins me in sending these condolences to Peter and Jeanie and family.
