Obituary of Bryan Carroll

May 13th, 1938 - March 1st, 2023 Peacefully, Wednesday March 1st, 2023, following a brief illness, Bryan Carroll, 84, of Arnprior, Ontario died at the Ottawa Civic Hospital. Loving father of Maureen, Lisa (Brian) and John (Kalisha). Proud Poppa of Claire, Mary, Olivia and Owen. Bryan was predeceased by his parents and his siblings, Jack, Jim and Sharon (Gadt). He will be fondly remembered by his many cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family and lifelong childhood friends. Bryan was born on May 13, 1938 to Mary (Enright) and Robert John (RJ) Carroll in Arnprior. He graduated from Arnprior District High School in 1958 and went on to study Merchandising Administration at Ryerson Institute of Technology in Toronto. After graduating in 1960, Bryan started his career at Eaton’s in Toronto where he met Marianne, his wife of 33 years, and where he forged friendships that would last a lifetime with the crew from Club 70. His career took him and his young family to Montreal when he took the roll of Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Sears Golick. During this time, he also co-owned the menswear shop Egan & Carroll in Arnprior. He eventually returned with his family to the Ottawa Valley where he opened a Stedmans department store on Raglan Street in Renfrew and retired as the President of Hovey Manufacturing. Bryan’s family would like to the thank the caring and professional staff at the Arnprior District Memorial Hospital, the Ottawa Civic Hospital and the Arnprior Villa. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd, 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior on Monday March 6th, 2023 from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated at St. John Chrysostom Church, Arnprior Monday March 6th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., followed by cremation. Following the Mass, family and friends are invited to a Reception at the Boyce Reception Centre. Interment of cremated remains will take place at Arnprior Malloch Road Cemetery later in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Diabetes Canada.
