With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Wendy Allison Van Dusen, a beacon of love and kindness, who left us on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 surrounded by the love of family at Almonte Country Haven, at the age of 70. Born to the late Orville and Mona (Fortin) Smith, Wendy lived a fulfilling life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments. Beloved mother of Elizabeth Van Dusen of Arnprior and Christina Van Dusen of Whitby, and adoring grandmother to Hayden and Mackayla. Loving sister of Penny Curnock (Bill) of White Lake. Predeceased by siblings Donald (late Mary), Robert (Velma), Terry (Carleen), Elizabeth "Betty" Amos (late Gordon), and Nancy Tessier (late Donald). Her memory will live on in the hearts of her numerous nieces and nephews, lin, Karen, Connie, Bobbi-Jo, Timothy, Jefferey, Shelley, Donald, Michelle, Gregory, Angela and Kayty. Wendy's vibrant, joyous personality was truly infectious; it was nearly impossible not to be drawn to her light. In her early years, she held a fulfilling career at the Arnprior Hospital, creating not only an impact with her dedicated work but also a treasured circle of friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her, as a testament to a life filled with love, compassion, and endless joy. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff at Almonte Country Haven, who provided Wendy with comfort, care, and a sense of home during her final days. Wendy’s final care has been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior. A graveside service will be held at the Arnprior Albert Street Cemetery Tuesday August 1st, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly appreciates donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society in honour of Wendy's life.
We invite all those who loved Wendy to join us in honouring her life, remembering her joy, and celebrating the love she so freely gave to all around her.
